Seaford Bonfire Society is grateful for the continued support of local businesses.
Support for the society includes sponsorship, programe adverts, raffle prize donations and practical support.
After the great success of this year’s Seaford Bonfire Night the Seaford Bonfire Society would like to convey their thanks to all those who contributed to making it such a fantastic event.
The Society would like to thank Seaford Town Council for their grant and to the White Lion Hotel for providing a welcoming venue for the Society HQ and their support throughout the year.
Local businesses helped towards the costs of the event by advertising in the programme, sponsored by Freeman & Forman, and by selling the programmes to the public. Thanks also go to local businesses that helped supply materials, equipment and their time, including Tansleys Printers for their help with the programme and publicity.
The event couldn’t have gone ahead without the kind co-operation of local authorities (ESCC, LDC, the Fire Service, the police and Eastbourne Borough Council Events Team), the assistance of Seaford Lifeguards and Seaford Rotary Club for organising road closures, and Eastbourne Bonfire Society for providing marshals for the procession. Safety was a priority and the Society are grateful to Sussex Events Ltd, Event Medic Security & Event Solutions & Wilbur Associates for helping ensure it all went smoothly.
On the night there was marvellous support from the visiting bonfire societies and bands. The VIPs were well looked after by the Avondale Hotel, and the mayor of Seaford did the honours in judging best dressed member of the society and best visiting society. The event was broadcast live by Seahaven FM and photographed by Society members Bill Simmons and Paul Ungoed.
The bucket collecting volunteers did a fantastic job collecting money from the crowds and the funds collected will be shared with the local charities the Society support.
A huge thanks goes to the local community that helped to make it all happen by donating money, buying programmes, displaying posters and sponsoring fireworks, and supporting the various fundraising events throughout the year. Seaford Bonfire Society members also deserve recognition for all the hard work they put in fundraising, creating the banners and effigies and planning & organising the Bonfire Night.
Special thanks to the following businesses who have kindly supplied much needed materials and support for our Bonfire Event:
